Immediately boost your team’s confidence when teaching cooking & nutrition with Play, Pause, Teach. Firstly, every session has a play and pause video-led lesson with a lesson plan. Meaning teachers are supported but they can also take control. Secondly, they’ll have access to nutrition PowerPoints and follow-up activities! Meaning, no additional planning is required. Thirdly, in the Teacher Resources section, they will also find training resources, videos and extras! You could work through the training videos in a staff meeting or allow teachers to access these when needed.
No matter a teacher’s previous experience, delivering a cookery session will come easy teaching alongside Play, Pause, Teach.
Having been teachers, we know how busy a school can be. Our EYFS and primary cooking lessons require no additional planning. With our cooking curriculum, a session takes 1-2 hours to complete. There are 6 available lessons per year group but if you don’t wish to use them all, you can select those that fit best into your school’s D&T curriculum. You’ll find a very useful curriculum map and guide which details the skills covered in each session.
Moreover, you have the option to use our weekly ingredient drop off service so a staff member doesn’t even need to spend time going to the shops! With this service, we’ll take into account your school allergies and dietary requirements when ordering ingredients, sending additional instructions should changes need to be made.
All of our lessons have been designed around a skill based cooking curriculum. Meaning, equipment is important. However, we’ve hugely considered the structure of the lessons keeping them simple and focused on group work. This means our sessions don’t require huge amounts of equipment nor space! With our recommended portable equipment sets, you can transform the classroom into the kitchen, making it easy to delivery great sessions.
When signing up to Play, Pause, Teach; we can offer you support in getting the right equipment for your school. We work with some great suppliers such as YPO to make ordering fast and easy.

Our EYFS curriculum features 6 popular, story-inspired, cooking lessons.
Designed by an experienced EYFS teacher, each lesson accesses the Early Learning Goals and has children counting, measuring, turn-taking alongside many other important skills – not just cooking!

We have 3 membership packages to choose from:
PPT: EYFS Access Only – This option is for schools or EYFS settings that only want access to the EYFS resources. Designed to be more affordable for those smaller settings.
Play, Pause, Teach: Access All – This grants your school access to our entire digital curriculum from EYFS to Year 6. All 42 lessons and resources are available with access to the Teacher Resource Section too.
PPT: Cookalong – Includes full access to the digital curriculum as well as weekly ingredient deliveries for KS1 and KS2. These are delivered on a rota with each class cooking approximately once per half term. Price includes curriculum access and our admin fee for arranging the weekly deliveries. Ingredients are charged separately based on the size of your school (see pricing below). Remaining credit from ingredient costs is returned.

Prices show a weekly credit amount which has been roughly estimated to cover the costs of a week’s delivery.
The total credit amount is charged at the start of the contract. For example, a 1 year subscription for the PPT: Cookalong Service includes 36 deliveries. This would be charged in full at the beginning of the contract. Remaining credit will be returned at the end.
We use local supermarkets for the ingredient delivery.
