Mandy joined the Classroom Kitchen team in September 2024 and is one of our Classroom Kitchen teachers, based in the North West. Having taught for many years in Preston, particularly enjoying delivering Food Technology lessons, Mrs Taylor couldn’t wait to get started cooking in schools every day. Mandy enjoys visiting new places, watching football and spending time with her family.
One reason why you love working for Classroom Kitchen?
The best part of being a teacher is being in the classroom inspiring children to learn and practise new things. I love seeing everyone having fun whilst developing their skills and trying new ingredients and recipes – especially when they’re surprised that they like something they thought that they wouldn’t.
What is your favourite Classroom Kitchen Recipe?
I love our new recipe for Quesadillas and Guacamole. It’s a fun lesson to teach where the class get to practise lots of cutting and grating skills. Eating the end product is pretty good fun too!
What is your favourite cuisine?
I like lots of different cuisines, there isn’t much that I won’t try. My all-time favourite would have to be Italian.
What has been your favourite travel destination?
My absolute favourite is Greece – the food, the history and the sunshine is all fabulous.
Do you have a favourite football team?
Manchester United.
When driving to school – what is on the radio?
It will always be Absolute Radio.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I like reading and I’ve always got a good book on the go. I have a two year old Cockapoo called Louis who is crazy, he takes me on lots of walks which I enjoy, especially when we go to the countryside.
