One reason why you love working for Classroom Kitchen?

I love to see children’s ideas about food develop through the CK sessions. The hands-on experience of preparing the ingredients, discussing food likes and dislikes and then seeing children trying and enjoying new ingredients and dishes; so often followed by those wonderful words, “I’m going to make that at home!”

What is your favourite Classroom Kitchen Recipe?

Djerma Stew: It is the national dish if Niger and combines lots of ingredients, flavours and spices that children may not have seen or tasted before, and it is always a real success in the taste test.

What is your favourite cuisine?

Italian: I am a huge fan of pasta dishes including lasagne and ravioli. I love pizza of course, cannoli and gelato – my favourite flavour being Biscotti della Nonna (Grandma’s Biscuits).

What has been your favourite travel destination?

Sicily: It’s hot, sunny, you’re always close to the sea, the wonderful history, the food is amazing and you get a chance to practice your Italian!

Do you have a favourite football team?

I’m from Wigan so my sport is Rugby League: Wigan Warriors of course.

When driving to school – what is on the radio?

I like lots of different styles of music, so I like to listen to Spotify – Happy Mix: It has a really positive, feel good vibe.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?

I like to spend time cooking meals for family and friends, playing golf, playing tennis, painting, photography and sitting in the garden.

Quickfire Round…

Marmite – love it or hate it?

Hate it!

Brown Sauce or Tomato Sauce?

…tough one…if I can only choose one it would have to be brown.

Sweet or Savoury?

…another tough one…again, if I had to choose, I would say sweet.

List three words to describe yourself?

Positive, helpful, adventurous
